This policy explains what data Space Miner (the “game”) collects, why, and who it is shared with. Questions and requests: sahaaamorozov@gmail.com.
Your progress (levels, credits, machines, parts) and settings (language, sound, vibration) are saved on your device. A random install ID is created on first launch to tell sessions apart; it is not linked to your name, any account or the advertising ID. You can see it in the game under this policy (Settings → Privacy policy).
If Android backup is on for your Google account, Android may back up the game’s data, including your progress and the install ID, to your Google account and restore it when you reinstall the game or move to a new phone. Without such a backup, deleting the game deletes them, and a reinstall starts with a new install ID. You can turn the backup off in your phone’s settings.
On Android, the game uses Google Play Games Services to sign you in automatically, to keep a copy of your progress (a “saved game”) in your Google account, and to show achievements and the weekly rift leaderboard. Google shares with the game your Play Games player ID and gamer name; the saved game holds only your game progress. Your gamer name and scores may be visible to other players according to your Play Games profile settings. If you do not use Play Games, your progress stays on your device (and in Android’s backup, if it is on). Google’s policy: policies.google.com/privacy
To fix bugs and tune the balance, the game sends events to Google Analytics for Firebase: sessions, tutorial steps, trips (planet, machine, depth, duration, earnings), upgrades, crates opened, achievements, quests, ads watched and connection losses, together with the random install ID (also used as the Analytics user ID), the game version, the platform and the interface language. If an error occurs, the game sends the error message. Firebase adds device and app information (model, operating system, approximate location from the IP address). We keep this data for up to 14 months. Firebase’s privacy information: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Where the law requires consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland), Google Analytics is not even started until you agree in Google’s consent form, which appears at first launch: to storing information on your device and to Google. If you do not agree, no statistics are sent; you can change your choice later (see “Your choices”).
A build of the game may also send the same events and error messages, with the install ID, a random session ID, the game version, the platform and the language, to a statistics server of our own, where they are kept no longer than in Firebase. When such a server is in use, this policy names it here.
The game needs an internet connection: without it the game pauses until the connection is back. To tell whether you are online, the app sends a tiny request every few seconds while you play (more often while the connection is lost, never in the background) to Google (connectivitycheck.gstatic.com), Cloudflare (cp.cloudflare.com) or Apple (captive.apple.com). To keep daily rewards from being claimed by changing the clock, it also reads the time from Google’s or Cloudflare’s answers (or from a server of our own). Like any server, these see your IP address; we do not use it to identify you.
Ads — full-screen ads between trips and reward videos you choose to watch — are served by Google AdMob, which may pass an ad request to its mediation partners Unity Ads, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) and AppLovin. These networks may collect your device’s advertising ID (Android Advertising ID, or IDFA on iOS if you allow tracking), IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device information and your interactions with ads. They use it to show and measure ads, prevent fraud and, with your consent, personalise ads. Their policies:
If in-app purchases are offered, payments are handled by Google Play or the App Store under their own terms; we never see your card details.
The game shows no notifications, does not ask for permission to show them and does not receive a push token.
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its processing: write to the address above. Include your install ID, shown in the game under this policy (Settings → Privacy policy), so we can find the records; for the saved game, your Play Games gamer name. You can delete the saved game yourself in the Play Games app, and the data on your device by deleting the game (and its copy in Android’s backup in Android’s settings). In the EEA and the UK the legal bases are: your consent (Google Analytics statistics, personalised ads), our legitimate interest in running and improving the game (error reports, the connection and time checks, the saved game) and the contract (purchases). You may also complain to your data protection authority.
Data leaves the device only over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date; important changes are announced in the game.
